The day Rene was healed

I heard you can heal.
I can't, but God can.  Do you need to be healed?
No.  My daughter.
What's the matter with her?
I can barely tell you without crying.  Will you please come and heal her?  You'll see what's wrong with her.
I'll come.  God will heal her.
How do you know He will?
God blessed me with a gift.  It's His gift of compassion, and His compassion heals.
So He feels bad about my daughter?
He feels infinitely worse than you do.
Then why did He even let it happen in the first place.... I'm sorry.
It's ok.  Let's go to your daughter.  We can talk after He heals her.
Alright.
***
Rene, can you sit up for a moment?
It's hard daddy.
I know sweetheart.
It's ok.  She can lay down.  Rene I'm Darren.
Hey.  Why are you crying Darren?  Dad, please stop crying.  I can't stand that I'm hurting you.
We love you Rene.  Your dad.  Me.  And God.
I don't feel like God loves me.  I feel like He hates me.  I feel like I'm going to die.
You're not Rene.  You're not going to die.  In the name of Jesus, who died for you and rose for you, be healed.
Dear God!  Rene!  Your skin!  Your hair!
I feel it daddy!  I'm better!  God made me better!
God thank you!  Thank you Jesus for healing my daughter!  Thank you so much God!  Thank you!
Daddy, I'm better!  I'm not tired!  I don't feel like I want to throw up!  My hair and skin are completely healthy!  God healed me daddy!  He really healed me!  Daddy, where did Darren go?
I don't know sweetie.
We have to find him.
Ok.  Maybe he's back at the church.
***
God, thank you so much for healing that beautiful girl!  I never get tired of seeing you do that.  Sometimes I have the same question her dad had.  Why do you even let things like this happen in the first place?
Why did I let Adam and Eve eat the forbidden fruit?  Why did I even make that fruit?  Or why did I allow Lucifer to rebel?
I don't know Lord.
Somethings are mysteries to you son.  But this isn't a mystery:  Evil is possible because of freewill.  The evil of one rebel effects all of creation.  The sin of one man and one woman effects every man and every woman.  I'm allowing evil for now.  But I will destroy it once and for all and forever.
Thank you God.
When Rene and her father come, tell them what I've told you.
Please give me power to tell them.  I'm sure they've heard about freewill before.
I'll be with you.  I'll speak through you.  I love you.
I love you too.

The Husband who Healed His Wife

My head hurts so bad I can't stand it.
I'm sorry sweetie.  How long has it been hurting?
For about an hour now.  I can barely think straight.
Can I pray for you sweetheart?
Yes, I would very much appreciate it.

The husband went to get his Bible and the Olive Oil he set aside for one purpose:  to pray for the sick, according to these verses of scripture:

Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.  And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up.

The husband studied these scriptures and the role of "elders."  He found out that an elder is a church leader, one who is a "mature and seasoned man of experience."  The husband led a home church of in his neighborhood of 5 people.

It was late, and he thought about the application of this verse to his situation.  In his home, he realized by the Spirit that he is the "elder," or leader, of his home, as it says in scripture:

But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.  1 Corinthians 11:3

"So in my home, Christ is my 'elder,' I am my wife's 'elder,' and God is the 'Elder' of Christ," the husband thought.  It's the only thing that made scriptural sense in his situation.  If he were sick, he would have no "elder" to call, other than Christ, who is the head of the man in the home.

All of these thoughts went through the husband's head as he got his anointing oil and Bible.
He came to his wife, who was now lying on the couch with her eyes closed.  Filled with compassion for his hurting wife, he opened the scriptures and the oil.  "I'll simply pray exactly what the scriptures say," he decided.

"Our Father in heaven, I pray over my wife and anoint her with oil in the name of the Lord.  Let my prayer offered in faith make my wife well; Lord, please raise her up.  Amen."

"Amen," his wife said.

She sat up and said, "I actually feel much better!  Thank you so much."
You're welcome sweetie.  I thank God for hearing me and touching you.  Is your headache completely gone?
No, not completely, but when you prayed and put the oil on my head, the throbbing completely stopped.  I still feel pressure, but it's faint and bearable.  I feel like I can think and do things now, even though the slight pressure is still in the back of my head.  I feel so much better.  Thank you again.  It really made a difference.
You're welcome.
Do you want something from the kitchen?  I'm going to get some tea.
No thank you.

His wife went to the kitchen and he thought about what happened.  He knew he didn't have the "gift of healing."  He was not a healer.  The Word of Wisdom was his spiritual gift.  But he also knew what the scriptures said he should do if someone is sick, so for him it was a matter of simple obedience to that command like any other command in scripture.  But he thought about something else.

Jesus said one of the signs that would follow those who believe is laying hands on the sick and the sick recovering.  He thought about the different words related to sickness that he remembered in scripture:

1. Healed.
2. Made whole.
3. Raised up.
4. Recovering.
5. Made well.

He also thought about the role of faith in the healer and healed, as well as the measure of giftedness each believer has.  Finally, he thought about love and how when his wife was in pain, he simply wanted her to not be in pain anymore, to feel better, to feel good.  Maybe the least he should expect when he prays for sick people is that in some way they feel better, that they are able to think and function without pain as a distraction.  He learned from Ravi Zacharias that any pain (or pleasure) that distracts, diminishes, or destroys God's goal for your life is an illegitimate pain or pleasure.  Nothing should keep distract us form prayer and service.

Like when Jesus healed Peter's mother-in-law of a fever, and she got up and served them.

He thought about basic Christian supernatural healing like taking Tylenol when he has a headache and has to go to work.  Even though the Tylenol doesn't "heal him" of the fever or whatever his body is fighting off through the fever, the Tylenol relieves his pain and the distraction of the fever so that he can focus on doing his job.

He believed now that the least he could do by the Spirit, by trusting God's word, is relieve people of pain out of love, and for the purpose of them doing what God has them to do without pain as a distraction.  In some way, he thought, every prayer should bring some relief...at least the relief of the "peace that surpasses all understanding," as Paul said.

Jesus at least makes people feel better.  He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

How to Heal People Like Jesus Did (Part 2)

There are a variety of ways for you to heal people if you believe in Jesus.  Remember, Jesus called healing one of the signs that follow those who believe. If you believe in Jesus, this is one of the signs that may follow you.  Now by "follow you," it means that as you bear witness to who Jesus is, or as you do things in His name and for His honor, some of the signs of following Jesus are demons coming out of people, speaking by the power of the Spirit (tongues,) or supernatural deliverance from satanic attacks.

If you believe in Christ, there will be some sign that shows you are a witness of the Lord Jesus.

As far as whether Mark 16:15-18 is "reliable," I'll paraphrase something a man named Watchman Knee said, "I tried it and it worked."  Know that as a believer in the Lord, you have authority to pray and act in Jesus' name as a sign of your belief. Let's apply this to healing people like Jesus did.

Jesus of course is our example, The Healer.
The word of God says these things about Him:

1.  Surely He took our infirmities and carried our sicknesses.  Yet we considered Him smitten by God, stricken by Him and afflicted.  He was pierced for our transgressions.  He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him.  And by His wounds we are healed.  From the Prophet Isaiah
2.  Jesus appeared for this purpose:  To destroy the works of the devil.  From John's 1st Epistle
3.  Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil.
The Apostle Peter

When Jesus healed, his motivation was compassion.  He used His power to love.

This is the very first way to heal people like Jesus did:
Selfless Love.

When I'm sick I want to be healed, which  means I want to feel good and not feel bad.  So I treat sick people like I want to be treated:  I pray that God will take away their pain just as I want my pain taken away when I'm sick.

I remember how Jesus healed Peter's mother-in-law from a fever.  We all have gotten fevers.  It touched me deeply to think that Jesus would heal something as "small" as a fever when He used to heal "big things" like blindness.  But then I remembered that Jesus knows the number of hairs on our heads.  Nothing and no one is too big or small for Him to care about. He cares about a mother-in-law's fever, and he cares about little sick children.

Once when my son was sick, I wanted him healed because I couldn't stand his pain. Caring for him, and trusting Jesus as his healer, I imagined all the ways I see Jesus and the apostles heal the sick.

I saw that Jesus and His followers didn't heal people exactly the same way:

1.  First and foremost, they were always motivated by selfless love.
2.  Sometimes they commanded sickness to leave by "rebuking it," personifying the sickness.
3.  Sometimes they commanded a demon to leave, showing the demon as the source of sickness.
4.  Sometimes they "layed hands" on the sick, and the sick recovered.
5.  Sometimes Jesus didn't have to be in the area at all, like with the centurion soldier.
6.  Sometimes those who are sick went to the elders of the church and were anointed with oil.
7.  And sometimes members of the congregation confessed sin to one another and "the prayer of faith," brought forgiveness and healing.

Now all of this may not seem to give a "step by step healing technique."  But it does...if you start with selfless love. When we love people, we don't think of them as numbers on a healing assembly line.  We deal with people individually, like Jesus did.  We let the Spirit lead us in loving and healing each individual one by one.

Many times love is the last motivation experienced when healing is sought.  Those who try to heal are not compassionate at all.  In fact, they can put very real pressure on people to quote verses, sing songs, have faith, etc.  This is not loving.  Jesus never puts pressure on people when he heals them.  He will make it clear that it only takes the faith of a mustard seed to move a mountain of sickness.  But He doesn't require anything from a sick person than to simply come to him.  That little bit faith is enough.

So what "technique" does God give you so that healing can be a "sign of your belief?"

The most basic technique for all of us, whether we have the gift of healing or not, is the loving prayer of faith.  Those with gifts of healings most likely already know their "unique technique" because the Spirit who gave them their gift already showed it to them.  But for you and I, who may not have the gift of healing, I believe we can see this sign in our lives to some extent through what we all know how to do: pray.

Don't we do this anyway?  When our loved ones are sick, we naturally pray for God to heal them.  Now we may throw in the whole, "Lord, touch the doctor's hand and remove the virus from my son's stomach."  We may add all of our so called medical knowledge to the prayer as to inform God of what is exactly needed.  We may think this is faith at work, and it may be. Either way, we pray naturally for healing as believers.  We do this in Jesus name, as a sign of our belief in Him.

I believe I can say confidently that even though I don't have the gift of healing, I've seen at least twice in my life someone healed as a result of me praying.  The least I would see was the person feeling better, or recovering.  The difference between my prayer of faith in Jesus' name and a woman with a real gift of healing is the frequency and power of healing that takes place with her gift.  She can almost heal "at will," like a teacher can naturally teach.

I believe every believer can bring some kind of comfort or relief through their prayer of faith, even if not complete healing.  They can bless the sick person with the compassion and love of Christ, which is healing in and of itself.  I also believe each believer has a unique kind of healing comfort he or she can bring.

For example, I'm not a doctor, but I can administer first aid until a doctor arrives.  I can clean cuts with hydrogen peroxide, put first aid ointment on the cut, and cover it with a band aid.

But there is also something "supernatural" I can do.  I can massage!  Not just a normal shoulder massage. I have an ability given by God to intuitively find areas on a person's body where the exact muscle or nerve needed release.  It feels intuitive when I do it.  This is how I "heal."  The person usually thanks me so much and asks if I'm a chiropractor.  I tell him no, and that the Spirit enables me.  He thanks me, and I praise God.

The way that you can heal like Jesus did, or in Jesus name, is to first and foremost love the sick person out of compassion.  Remember, this was Jesus' motivation.  And this motivation is, in and of itself, healing and comforting.

If you are not compassionate, you cannot heal like Jesus did.  You will be an obnoxious discouraging stench in the nostrils of a person already struggling to breathe.

Love never fails.  If you selflessly love a sick person, your love will heal them, one way or another.  But if you don't have selfless love for the sick, or for anyone you are serving in the Lord, you commit the worse Christian sin....which you'll find out tomorrow.... God willing.
Until then, heal like Jesus did.

How to Heal People Like Jesus Did (Part 1)

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.  Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.  And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;  they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”  Mark 15:16-18

Conveniently, many scholars say this passage is not in "the earlier manuscripts," shedding serious doubt, if not total disbelief that these are actually the words of Jesus.  Notice I say "conveniently."

Who gets the most benefit from these words not being the words of Jesus?  Satan of course.  Demons would love us to doubt these verses, so that the works of the devil, namely sickness and death, can be easily dealt out by Satan, the murderer himself.

Who else benefits from the sick not recovering, or from new tongues being spoken?  More importantly than this, who else benefits from the Name of Jesus having no power to perform any of these things as a confirmation of the gospel. That is what these verses all boil down to after Jesus ascended:  In the Name of Jesus, signs will follow those who believe in Him, signs of the truth of gospel of Jesus Christ.  One of those signs is the sign of healing.

If you are a believer, and though you may not have the spiritual gift of healing, (as I myself do not,) to a limited sense you can still lay hands on the sick, and they will get well. I'll show you how. (click HERE for part 2)

The 3 TRUTHS About How HEALS JESUS TODAY (Part 1)

Before I finish writing about the Spiritual Gifts as a whole, I have a revelation from the Spirit to you about one of the gifts:  The Gift of Healing.  This revelation will set you free from fake healers, and help you to find the true Healer, Jesus Christ, and those who are truly blessed with the gift of healing.

There are three things you need to know about how Jesus heals you today:

1.  Jesus is unchanging.
2.  Jesus' mission hasn't changed.
3.  Jesus' ways haven't changed.

JESUS IS UNCHANGING
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.  Hebrews 13:8

How did Jesus respond to sick people?  He was compassionate towards them.  He never turned any one away who came to be healed.  He responded to their belief, their faith, their desperate trust in Him, and only Him, to heal them.

Some say, "Jesus didn't heal everyone in Jerusalem, or go into all of the Jewish hospitals and empty them. He didn't heal the man by the pool stirred by angels."  These ignore two things the Bible does say, and these two things are connected deeply to whether Jesus heals everyone who comes to Him.

1.  We don't find one scripture where a sick person came to Jesus, openly or secretly, and didn't get healed. He didn't turn anyone away.  Even a persistent Gentile woman received healing from Him.  He is a compassionate healer who will heal those who come to him.

2.  Jesus asked the man at the pool stirred by angels a significant question:

When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, "Do you want to get well?"  John 5:6 Emphasis mine

Why would Jesus ask the man this question?  Shouldn't it be obvious?  But look at the man's answer, and hear the answer to two questions posed by the skeptical:

"Sir," the invalid replied, "I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me." John 5:7

Notice the man didn't answer Jesus' simple yes or no question: "Do you WANT to get well?"

The answer should have been, "Yes Jesus, I want to get well."  Or "No Jesus I don't."  But instead, his answer was contingent on whether SOMEONE would help in in the pool WHEN THE WATER WAS STIRRED.
