YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.
Acts 17:26-27

Whether you have a lot of friends or a few, you can feel alone in a room full of people, or in bed with one.  Alone with your thoughts and feelings.  Alone in your pain, or worse, in your joy.

So you go out.  You call someone.  You text someone else.
He answers.
She responds.

The feeling is still there.
After you meet, greet, smile, and hug, what's in you is still yours...alone.

Who is really with you, feeling you, listening to you, all of the time?
One word comes to mind, but you're afraid to say it.
You're afraid it's cliché, and that my words will leave you feeling by yourself.

Consider this.
Do you feel alone while you're reading?

If not, then say the one word.
I'll ask again.
Who is really with YOU, the one reading my words; feeling you, listening to you, all of the time.

GOD.

How can you know?
It is written,

"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Psalms 34:18

The Spirit says again to you,
"The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth." Psalms 145:18

If you are broken hearted and crushed in spirit, call on the LORD in truth.
In total honesty.
Don't say what you think you're supposed to say, but what you really deeply feel.
I promise you, after you do, you won't feel alone.

You are not alone.

God is with you.

I am with you.

I love you.

When Will THE END OF THE WORLD Come? (Part 1)

"This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come."  Matthew 24:14

When the whole world has a testimony of The Good News, then the end will come.

Two questions must be answered to understand this revelation:

  1. What is this "Good News?"
  2. How do we EXPERIENCE the Good News?
Listen to Jesus:
After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God.  “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”
Mark 1:14-15

This is the Good News Jesus proclaimed:

  • The time has come.  No more waiting.  The wait is over!
  • The Kingdom of God has come near.  It's no longer a distant hope.

The reign of God on earth has begun.  Right here.  Right now!
But how do we know?

The prophet of all prophets, the greatest prophet according to Jesus, also wanted to know if Jesus' proclamation had actually happened:

When John, who was in prison, heard about the deeds of the Messiah, he sent his disciples  to ask him, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.  Matthew 11:2-5

The Good News of the Messiah was manifest or made certain by the power of the Holy Spirit!

The proclamation of God's kingdom on earth consisted of four things:

1. Powerful Preaching
2. Powerful Teaching
3. Healing
4. Casting out Demons

These four things made the truth of the proclamation of God's coming kingdom undeniable, irresistible, and irrefutable!

THIS IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN ALL OVER THE WORLD AS A TESTIMONY OF THE GOOD NEWS:
THE KINGDOM OF GOD ON EARTH.

THEN THE END WILL COME!

When Will THE END OF THE WORLD Come? (Part 2)

"Repent and believe the good news!”  The Lord Jesus Christ

Change your mind!
Change the way you think about the world!
Change the way you think about the governments of this world!
Change the way you think about The Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ!

In Jesus' day this meant the Jews had to change their idea about the Messiah and His Kingdom.
They thought the Son of David would politically destroy all enemies of Israel and subjugate the Gentiles under the authority of the Nation of God!  By military power unprecedented the Messiah would crush the nations!

But they had to repent! To change their minds!  To accept the Messiah and God's kingdom as it is, not as they imagined it!

We must do the same in America!
We must do the same in the Church!

America isn't "the second Israel!"
The Good News isn't merely "The Sinner's Prayer."

The true Israel of God, the true people of God, are ALL who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as The ONLY ONE who died for EVERYONE'S SIN'S and rose from the dead!  Neither America NOR ISRAEL are special.  All who believe in Christ are God's children on earth, no matter where they are.

And the true gospel isn't just a tract or piece of literature with verses from the book of Romans!
The true good news is a message backed by power!
Or power that is backed by a message!

Before the Lord returns, every nation will hear that Jesus is Lord and Savior.
But they won't just hear it!

  • They'll see it and know it!
  • They'll see people healed of diseases!
  • They'll see demons come out of those enslaved to sin and insanity!

They'll hear truth so clear and real that it will cause immediate freedom to know God or fierce hatred towards God.

They will have never heard or seen anything like the Kingdom of God!
Then the end will come!
But not until then.
So what will you do today, right now, at this moment?

  • Will you go on as if America is exempt from The Real Good News?
  • Will you go on with church as usual?
  • Or will you hear and believe that the Kingdom of God has come?
  • Will you change your mind and enter God's Kingdom by accepting God's King?

Change your mind.
Change the way you think about America and the church.
Change the way you think about The Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ!

The 3 BEST THINGS About BEING MARRIED

1. It's exactly what you're looking for (if you're not married.)
The constant companionship is very real and very fulfilling.

2.  It actually gets better every year!
I feel exactly the same bond I felt with my wife the first day we met.  Yet I also feel we've grown so deeply connected that I can no longer think of myself without thinking of Lucy.

3.  It is clearly a blessing from God, and blessed by God.
I KNOW that God is for marriage in general, and for my marriage specifically.  I've seen Him bring us through very difficult days, days so hard that it didn't seem like we'd make it.  But we did!  We always did.  And I KNOW it was God with us, helping us, guiding us.

  • If you're not married and you want to be, know that what you want from marriage is exactly what it is!
  • As God is for marriage, He is also for YOU GETTING MARRIED.
  • When you do finally find the one for you, expect each year to get better and better!

Where and How To MEET GOD

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.  Matthew 6:6 NKJV

Two words guarantee intimacy with God.
Two words guarantee you will meet God directly:

  1. Secret
  2. Prayer
Where is God?
He is in "the secret place."

What is He doing there?
Listening to those in secret prayer.

Where is the secret place?
Wherever no one but God can hear you.

  • Alone in a room, any room, behind a closed door.
  • Alone in your mind, any time, behind a closed mouth.

The Lord Jesus promises God's open reward for those who meet God secretly.

What open reward does He promise?

The same reward promised throughout scripture:
  • If you are intimate with God, He will be intimate with you!
  • If you share your secrets with God, He will share His secrets with you!
  • If you reveal yourself to God, He will reveal Himself to you!

When Jesus Prayed (Part 2)

God is hearing and answering prayers according to His will. When we are genuinely seeking God’s will in prayer, God is actively listening in the room. You are feeling it. People with you are feeling it. This is something that is certain, over which you have perfect control. What are you praying for today? What are you praying for right now? Really praying. Really seeking. Real prayers make an impression on God Himself! How can they not make an impression on you and those with you? You are wanting and needing something right now. Is God agreeing with your prayer? (Read part 3)

When Jesus Prayed (Part 1)

One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” Jesus praying made an impression. How? Why? When His followers watched Him pray, they felt like they didn't know how to pray. What is prayer? Communication and connection with heaven. They felt like they didn't know how to connect to God, but they felt like Jesus did. This is the impression we should make in our prayers. Just by watching us, people should see and know we are connecting to God. So much so, that they feel the connection with us, or they desire the connection from us. They want us to teach them. They need us to teach them to connect with God. Do you make this impression when you pray? Do people see and know that you have a connection with God? Do they see God responding to you, answering your prayers?
