The Man of God at the Bus Stop (Part 2)

"What should we do?" said the other woman at the bus stop.  (I, the woman with dark brown hair, the African-American woman who just spoke, and another man about college aged, stood watching this entire event.)  The African-American woman also had dark brown eyes and bushy black hair that stood with a ferocity that contrasted the beauty of her humility.

"Accept the good news and change the way you live," the man of God warmly responded.

"What do you think about this so called 'message?'" The first woman sarcastically asked the college aged man.

"I don't think anything about it.  He's free to believe whatever he wants."  But he spoke hesitantly, with a slight tremble, like someone trying to convince himself of something he doesn't really believe.

"I accept your message sir," said the African-American woman.  "I give my life to God right now."

"God's Spirit will lead you from now on."

"Sir, how do we know what you're saying is true?" I asked.  I don't know why I and the African-American woman called him "sir."

"You knew from the time I spoke.  You heard God Himself speaking through me to you."

He was right.  I did.  That's what I was trying to say earlier, but didn't know how.  It really was like God was speaking to me through him, to all of us through him.  Even the angry woman looked scared now.  I could tell she also knew God was speaking.

"I don't want God in my life!" she yelled. This shocked all of us except the man of God.

"Then He won't be.  But He loves you and will welcome you if you change your mind."

Tears filled the angry woman's eyes.  They filled mine too.  I could feel God's love in the man's voice, and I could see how deeply it touched the angry woman.

"I'm sorry I yelled at you," she said softly and sadly.  For the first time, she looked sweet, again to my surprise.

"God loves you."

"I know He does.  I'm sorry for everything I've ever done.  Will He forgive me?"
"He does forgive you.  Follow His Spirit from now on."

I saw something beyond words.  The African-American woman and the formerly angry woman looked so peaceful they almost glowed.  They were radiant.  Like when someone has really clear healthy skin and they are pondering a beautiful memory.

"What about you two?  How do you respond to God's message?

The Man of God at the Bus Stop (Part 1)

Everyone listen, I have extremely good news:
God has come to the earth; God has taken charge of this world.

I and three others at the bus stop looked at this man of God, unsure of how to respond.  I can't explain it, but something about the way he gave his message struck me.  He sounded like a news reporter, a  police officer, and an excited fan of a team that just won the final game.  In other words, I believed him.  I can't explain why.  From the looks of the other three with me, they also believed him...at least in the sense of feeling like his words were an accurate report of a real event.  But their responses varied sharply.

"Who do you think you are?!  All I'm trying to do is wait for the stupid bus, and here you come, shoving your religion down our throats!"  The woman with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes never let her gaze off of the man of God.  Never.  Her breathing sped on as her chest heaved up and down.  Her fists clenched and reddened.

"I am only delivering a message," said the man of God calmly.

How to change your life (Part 1)

If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.  Lao Tzu

John the Baptizer told us how to change.
Jesus told us how to change.
One word.

Repent.
How?
Why?

This is what Jesus said:
The time has come.  The kingdom of God is near.  Repent and believe the good news.

This is how (and why) you change your life:
1. Realize two things.
2. Do two things.

REALIZE TWO THINGS
Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time.  We are the one's we've been waiting for.  We are the change we seek.  President Barak Obama

The first thing you must realize is this:  The time has come.  There is nothing else to wait for and no one else to wait for.  What you've been waiting for, and who you've been waiting for, has already happened; He has already come.  The world continues to seek The One with all the answers and power, The Savior of this sin sick world.  He came, and He is still here.  First, realize this.

Next, realize that because He came, the world we are waiting on is not in some far off future.  It is now.  We all want a Utopian heaven on earth, where there is true liberty and beauty and power and glory:  The Kingdom of God.  But there can be no kingdom without a king, The King.  He came, and He is here; thus His kingdom is already here, not far...but near.

Realize these two things.
After this, two things remain for you to do.

What to do until Jesus returns

The Spirit of God is in you, if you believe in Jesus.  He, Himself, is in you.  Everyone you encounter meets God in you.  Wherever God is, there is heaven on earth--the kingdom of God.  The sick can be healed; the demon possessed can be set free.  Those who don't know can receive a revelation, and those with a revelation can live by that revelation.  And what is the revelation, the good news, the life changing truth that you possess?

The time has come; the kingdom of God is near.
That is the good news.
That's what you proclaim and personify.

THE TIME HAS COME.
It isn't in the past nor something we wait for in the future.  Now, the Spirit of God is on earth--in you.  You are the temple of God, the holy dwelling place of God's Spirit.  No one has to wait for Jesus to return because in a very real sense, He's already here, by His Spirit, in you.  Wherever you are, God's kingdom is.  You are the temple of God.  Those who are near you are near God's kingdom.

THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NEAR
Not far.  Not far away in a distant land or future.  Here and now, right now, the Spirit of God rules wherever believers are.

This is why we are here.
This is what we are to do until Jesus returns:

Let the Spirit of God fill us, filling our lives, filling the atmosphere wherever we are.

How to KNOW GOD'S WILL for YOUR LIFE (2)

Our Father who is in heaven,
you are is supremely unique,
different from everyone and every thing.
You should be respected because no one is like You,
Unborn and Undying,
Perfectly good, perfectly powerful, and perfectly wise.
Control earth now.  Be completely in control on earth now, just as you are in perfect control in heaven.
(My paraphrase of the prayer Jesus taught His followers.)

The new age is here, right now.
The Spirit of God is on earth,
right now, in me and in all who follow Jesus.
We don't need to wait any longer.
God is here, on earth, right now, in my body,
and your body if you follow Jesus.

This is the good news:

The time has come.
God's new world order has already begun.

All people should therefore change what they think about life and accept the good news.

If you follow Jesus, you are a witness of this.  You bear witness to this.  The Spirit of God is in you.

Follow the Spirit of God.
Speak as He leads you to.
Act as He leads you to.

This is the new age of God, God's new world order:
The Kingdom of God.

To follow God's Spirit is to do God's will,
on earth as it is done in heaven.

Could Jesus be President of the United States?

Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place."
John 18:36

Jesus stood and faced the American crowd, Americans who last week loved Him, but this week loathed Him, now secretly wishing Him dead.  This was an open mic question and answer session for the two remaining candidates for President of the United States.  Jesus responded to the woman who questioned his intentions.  She was a mayor in the city hosting the session.

"Do you want liberty or a lie?"  Jesus said?
"What do you know of liberty!?" The mayor yelled.
"I know what your founding fathers didn't:  The only liberty in this life and the next is in me."
"NEVER.  We find our freedom in ourselves, a government of the people, by the people, and for the people!" (The crowd cheered!)
"Never indeed.  Where was this so called liberty with the natives of this country?  With the enslaved and the enslaving?  You want what you have not and cannot achieve.  I will give it to you.  But I must rule you."
"America will NEVER be ruled by one man!  We rejected the king of England in the beginning.  We reject every king and all kings now!" (Applause!)
"Do you really?  Will you really?"
"Are you asking us to undo democracy for a theocracy?"
"Is this one nation under God?"
"The principles of this country come from God.  But until God comes, we must govern ourselves and keep government from tyranny.  Absolute power corrupts absolutely."
"All authority is given to Me in heaven and on earth." (The crowds loudly boo him.)
"We, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE,  have given you NO authority!" (LOUD CHEERS!)
"When did you become the source of any authority?"
"We are the sovereign nation!  The United States of America!" (Cheers from the crowd.)
"It is written, '"The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.'"
"NEVER.  NEVER OVER US!  What you say is not democracy!"
"What if one came who offered you perfect democracy instead of what I'm offering?  What would you say to him?"
"If someone made democracy perfect, self government complete, we would vote for him and follow him into the dawn of the glory of America."  (Loud uproars and applause.)
"So be it.  Some one will come. He will be your Messiah.  He will give you what you want:  Your own kingdom, without God."
"We want only the God of Democracy!" (CHEERS!)
"It will be as you say."

Jesus left the stage, and the other candidate stood in his place...smiling.

"I am the one you are looking for.  The one Jesus spoke of.  The one with the perfect democracy.  Hear me and vote for me.  I'm about to change the world...."  (CHEERS!  APPLAUSE!)

When Will THE END OF THE WORLD Come? (Part 1)

"This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come."  Matthew 24:14

When the whole world has a testimony of The Good News, then the end will come.

Two questions must be answered to understand this revelation:

  1. What is this "Good News?"
  2. How do we EXPERIENCE the Good News?
Listen to Jesus:
After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God.  “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”
Mark 1:14-15

This is the Good News Jesus proclaimed:

  • The time has come.  No more waiting.  The wait is over!
  • The Kingdom of God has come near.  It's no longer a distant hope.

The reign of God on earth has begun.  Right here.  Right now!
But how do we know?

The prophet of all prophets, the greatest prophet according to Jesus, also wanted to know if Jesus' proclamation had actually happened:

When John, who was in prison, heard about the deeds of the Messiah, he sent his disciples  to ask him, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.  Matthew 11:2-5

The Good News of the Messiah was manifest or made certain by the power of the Holy Spirit!

The proclamation of God's kingdom on earth consisted of four things:

1. Powerful Preaching
2. Powerful Teaching
3. Healing
4. Casting out Demons

These four things made the truth of the proclamation of God's coming kingdom undeniable, irresistible, and irrefutable!

THIS IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN ALL OVER THE WORLD AS A TESTIMONY OF THE GOOD NEWS:
THE KINGDOM OF GOD ON EARTH.

THEN THE END WILL COME!

When Will THE END OF THE WORLD Come? (Part 2)

"Repent and believe the good news!”  The Lord Jesus Christ

Change your mind!
Change the way you think about the world!
Change the way you think about the governments of this world!
Change the way you think about The Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ!

In Jesus' day this meant the Jews had to change their idea about the Messiah and His Kingdom.
They thought the Son of David would politically destroy all enemies of Israel and subjugate the Gentiles under the authority of the Nation of God!  By military power unprecedented the Messiah would crush the nations!

But they had to repent! To change their minds!  To accept the Messiah and God's kingdom as it is, not as they imagined it!

We must do the same in America!
We must do the same in the Church!

America isn't "the second Israel!"
The Good News isn't merely "The Sinner's Prayer."

The true Israel of God, the true people of God, are ALL who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as The ONLY ONE who died for EVERYONE'S SIN'S and rose from the dead!  Neither America NOR ISRAEL are special.  All who believe in Christ are God's children on earth, no matter where they are.

And the true gospel isn't just a tract or piece of literature with verses from the book of Romans!
The true good news is a message backed by power!
Or power that is backed by a message!

Before the Lord returns, every nation will hear that Jesus is Lord and Savior.
But they won't just hear it!

  • They'll see it and know it!
  • They'll see people healed of diseases!
  • They'll see demons come out of those enslaved to sin and insanity!

They'll hear truth so clear and real that it will cause immediate freedom to know God or fierce hatred towards God.

They will have never heard or seen anything like the Kingdom of God!
Then the end will come!
But not until then.
So what will you do today, right now, at this moment?

  • Will you go on as if America is exempt from The Real Good News?
  • Will you go on with church as usual?
  • Or will you hear and believe that the Kingdom of God has come?
  • Will you change your mind and enter God's Kingdom by accepting God's King?

Change your mind.
Change the way you think about America and the church.
Change the way you think about The Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ!

Why Jesus is troubling to you.

Is Jesus troubling to you? At His birth He is troubling to all of Israel. Why? What made the birth of their King troubling? The wise men are seeking Jesus to worship Him. This is what is troubling to King Herod and Israel—Worship. The King of the Jews is not subject to politics. He is to be worshipped. Not just by Jews. But by everyone in the world, even wise men from the east. Worship is troubling to Satan. Satan is willing to give up everything for Jesus’ worship. Why is worship troubling? Because the truest act of worship is the offering of our bodies and our lives. Even King Herod is to be subject to this king. This is what is troubling. Does worship trouble you? Is Jesus troubling to you?

A Scene from JUDGEMENT DAY

James Williams, son of Robert, where have you been and where was your going?
I came from a hard working family, and I focused on being as successful as humanly possible.

What did success mean for you in your life?
It meant I got all that I earned through my hard work and skill.

What was that?
Respect in my field, wealth, luxury, all the perks of someone who made it!

Now, in front of Me, what did all of your accomplishments mean?
……..I don’t know exactly.  I feel like I’ve done next to nothing.  But how can that be?  Haven’t I used all the talents You gave me for good?

For whose good?  Whose good did you intend in your definition of success?
……………mine, and anyone else’s who wanted to succeed in life.

What about your wife and children?
They didn’t have my drive!  They always wanted my time and attention in a way that distracted me.

You only valued those who had your drive.
Who else deserved my value?

After you succeeded, according to your definition of success, what happened to your drive?
Well when a man gets to the top, he can relax.

And do what?
Enjoy the fruit of his labor.  Even the Bible says that.

So only those who were driven and successful in their labor deserve your time, and deserve enjoyment and rest in life?
Exactly!

What do you want from Me?
What have I ever wanted from you?  Absolutely nothing!  I never needed to live on my knees for anything, and I won't begin begging now!  For mercy or anything else!

Where did your drive, ability, and success come from James?
I know.  You gave them to me.  But what I did with them is all mine!  You didn’t make me successful!

Now that the end is near, what do you want?
I have my will.  I always will.  I got where I am all by myself, and all I need I have in me!  All I will ever need is ME!

I will never yield to You!
Nor I to you.
Then we agree.
We do.

Let eternity be as you say.  Let your will be done forever.  I give you the opposite of Heaven and My Sanctuary:  I give you the sanctuary of Self.  Forever you will have no one, or no thing, but you.  Your imagination, without the Creator's or the creation's inspiration, is yours to do with what you will.  It is as you say, both now, and forever.

The difference between a THREAT! and a FACT!!!

Facts are happening. Threats are not. The coming of Jesus is not a threat. His Spirit is here! His kingdom is here. The New Age is now, the age of the children of God. The sons and daughters of the Spirit. The brothers and sisters of the Lord. How can you know this is certain? Not mere doctrine. Not religion? You know by the way you are feeling right now, the way you are feeling as you are reading. "I'm not feeling anything?" Ask yourself why. "My feelings change, so I don't trust them." Ask yourself the feeling that you always trust. "You've set this up so that no matter what I say, you'll just say that you're right, Olatunde!" No matter what I say or don't say, you are breathing, right now. Maybe with difficulty or assistance. But your breath is a fact. The same is true with my words. The Spirit of God is with you.

Could Jesus Be President? (Part 2)

Jesus dominates this world by His Spirit. In me. In you, if you obey the Lord. His Spirit is filling the room I'm in. No one can escape Him. Accept Him or reject Him, He is here! Where He is, He rules. He cannot obey us. We cannot impeach Him. His government is not a government "of the people, by the people, or for the people." It is existing before us, and it is existing after us. Jesus needs no cabinet or advisors. He can care less about public opinion. And God's children are ruling with Him, though not in a theocracy. In expressing reality. God gave the first man and woman dominion. They gave it to Satan. The Last Man, the New Man, took it back, gave it back, and rules in us and through us. If you have the Spirit in you, dominate your territory for God's glory. Fill it with His word, His love, His power. In this way, the Kingdom of God is here. The kingdom of God is now.

Could Jesus Be President? (Part 1)

No. Why? He told Pilate that His kingdom, key word, KINGDOM, was not of this world. That means that His rule would not fit into the category of democracy. Nor monarchy. Nor socialism. Nor capitalism. Nor any governmental category we have in this world. Whatever is like God’s kingdom in them would remain. But there would be something else. Something unaccounted for. Him! God! Not theocracy, where we SAY God is the one behind us, but really, it’s us behind us. I mean God. Ruling. Forever. Changing everything about everything. That’s how God is. He can’t “adjust.” We must adjust to Him.
