Self deception is the supreme deception. Every other lie comes from lying to yourself. You act like something you’re not. We tell ourselves lies hoping others will believe them. “I’m really a good person.” “I would never do that.” “I always have the best intentions at heart.” We lie. You lie. I lie. We lie to ourselves hoping God will believe us. If He does, who won’t? But He never does. Because we know that He knows what we know. Self deception is the supreme deception.
