Three Necessities in Following The Spirit (Part 3)

Three things are necessary to follow the Holy Spirit:

1)Know Him.
2)Expect obstacles.
3)Trust Him.

To trust Him means two things:

1] Do what He gave you the ability to do.
2] Let Him do what you don’t have the ability to do.

God empowered the rod of Moses. Moses knew God empowered his rod. He saw it before. So when they came to the Red Sea, God told Moses to use what God had given him ALREADY. This is like when God told Gideon to “go in the strength THAT YOU HAVE!”

When God makes His leading known, and obstacles arise, either you will already have and know the way to overcome the obstacles, or you will know how to go to Christ to overcome them for you. This is what Jesus’ followers did on the boat when the storm rose. They went to Jesus. They went in fear and doubt, but at least they went to Him, knowing where He was. And this is key: If the boat sank, then Jesus was going down with them! If Israel was defeated by Pharaoh’s army, then God’s glory would suffer with Israel. God is with you if you believe in His Son! And you can know this as certainly as the first disciples did!

Jesus said it was BETTER for Him to ascend into heaven so the Spirit could be given. How can it be BETTER to have Christ physically with you if you have an ambiguous nebulous Spirit instead? Which is BETTER, Jesus in the flesh, or an uncertain Spirit of God in you? Clearly the Spirit must be just as real in His Presence as Jesus was if it’s BETTER for Him to be with us than Jesus! The Spirit’s leading is certain. If you don’t feel certain that it’s the Spirit, THEN IT’S NOT!

Three things are necessary to follow the Holy Spirit:
1)Know Him.
2)Expect obstacles.
3)Trust Him.

To trust Him means two things:
1.] Do what He gave you the ability to do.
2.] Let Him do what you don’t have the ability to do.
