Three Necessities in Following The Spirit (Part 2)

True faith doesn’t come from thinking God’s leading is ambiguous. Faith doesn’t come from uncertainty in God’s leading, but AFTER you have certainty of God’s leading! Moses KNEW God was leading Him to Egypt. BECAUSE MOSES KNEW it was God in the burning bush, it took true faith to go! The disciples knew Jesus was on the boat with them when a dangerous storm arose. In both the story of Moses and the disciples on stormy waters, there were obstacles in following God. Expect this! But also expect God to be tangibly present in the obstacles. After all, God could’ve stopped the obstacle from happening.

Why didn’t God stop Pharaoh? Pharaoh and his armies are behind the Israelites, and the Red Sea is in front of them. Were the Israelites UNCERTAIN that God had led them up to that point? Absolutely not! In fact, the angel of the LORD, and God’s pillar of cloud, WERE VISIBLY IN FRONT OF ISRAEL, AND VISIBLY WENT BEHIND ISRAEL WHEN PHARAOH’S ARMY PURSUED THEM!

Jesus was physically on the boat with his followers, AND THEY KNEW IT! They went to the bottom of the boat to wake him up! He woke up, rebuked the storm, and rebuked their doubt! Why? Because when Jesus says, “Let’s go to the other side of the lake,” no storm will stop his words from fulfillment. And when God plans to deliver his people, no sea or army will stop Him! When you know the Spirit is leading you, it is then that you will need faith, because obstacles will arise. Expect them. Then trust God right where you are. (Read part 3.  Click Here!)
