How To Know Your God Given Skill

Then Moses said to the Israelites, "See, the LORD has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability, and knowledge in all kinds of crafts--and he has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others.  Then Moses summoned Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the LORD had given ability and who was willing to come and do the work. 
Exodus 35:30,34. 36:2

God gave some of you skills to use for a specific work he chose you alone to do.  And God gave others of you the ability to pass those skills to others.  Workers and Teachers.

But how do you know if your skill is natural or supernatural?  The answer is in the origin of the skill, as Jesus said,

"That which is born of flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit."

Take Jesus's words literally.  You came into this world by a man and woman having sex.  A natural physical act had a natural physical result:  you.  A believer or nonbeliever can make this happen.  This can even happen in situations of sin, whether fornication, adultery, or rape.

But Jesus came into this world by the Holy Spirit overshadowing a virgin named Mary.  Only God could bring this about.

And that is the difference.

Your God given skill has it's origin in God alone.

Take a minister of God's word for example.

Any man or woman can speak his or her opinions form a pulpit.  The origin of their words is their own thoughts and perspective.

But truth has it's origin in God alone.  The Bible says,

• Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. 
• The Spirit of truth who is truth will guide you into all truth.
• The Spirit is truth.
• Sanctify them by the truth.  God's word is truth.

No one can communicate the truth of God without God. 
He alone is the origin of truth.  So when we encounter pure truth, we encounter Jesus Christ, as Christ said to Pilate before He was crucified:

"For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth.  All who are of the truth hear my voice."

Look at your skills, talents, or abilities.  What are there origin?  Were you born with them?  Or were you born again with them? 

I was born with musical ability. 
I was born again with words of wisdom.

My musical ability came from my earthly father.
But my wisdom comes from God alone, according to His word, His Son, His Spirit.

You will know your God given skill by it's origin.  It is something you can do only because God has enabled you.
