When and How Should We Give Offerings To God? (Part 1)

The LORD said to Moses, "Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering.  You are to receive the offering for me from each man whose heart prompts him to give.  These are the offerings you should receive from them:  gold, silver, and bronze; blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair, ram skins dyed red and hides of sea cows; acacia wood; olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; and onyx stones and gems to be mounted on the ephod and breast piece."

Exodus 25:1-7

When do you want your closest friends and loved ones to give anything special to you?
How do you want to receive gifts of appreciation from those who love you?

I know that I love tokens of appreciation given freely and whole heartedly, whenever it comes into the heart of some one I love.  Like when my daughter just says out of the blue, "Daddy, I think I love you."  I respond, "Thank you Caelestis, I think I love you too."  Why did Caelestis, at that moment, tell me she loved me?  Her heart prompted her to say it, so she did.

And how did she say it?

Genuinely.  She said it from her truest feelings, and in doing so, she said it exactly like I would want to hear it.
