2 Ways To Guarantee God's Presence and Power in Your Life (Part 2)

"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."  Matthew 5:16 NASB

A beautiful hotel feels like heaven. Why heaven?  Because of the inherent goodness of the order and cleanliness of the room.  A sincerely sweet nurse in the emergency room is like an angel.  She literally glows with warmth and compassion.  A messenger from heaven. Why?  Because only God is good.  Goodness can only come from God.

There are certain behaviors and actions that in and of themselves can be only experienced through God.  Take truth as an example.  These scriptures define what truth is:
    • When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth.  John 16:13 NLT
    • It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. 1 John 5:6b
    • Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."  John 14:6
    • Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. John 17:17
    • For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.  John 18:37  ESV
Jesus is the truth, and came into the world to bear witness to the truth, so that if a man or woman really wants the truth, they will inevitably come to Jesus. They have to.  Jesus is the truth.

The Spirit is truth and the source of all truth, guiding us into the truth:  God's word, written and incarnate.

Apply this to the presence and power of God guaranteed in your life.

If you commit yourself to only speak and act based upon the absolute truth, you will have the presence and power of truth as a guarantee, which is the presence and power of Jesus Christ Himself; Jesus is the truth.

Jesus said to let our lights shine before people by letting them see our good works.  Sometimes as believers in Christ we down play good works because we are saved by faith and not by good works. Grace doesn't mean good works should decrease, but that they may increase by the very faith that saved us.  We are good and do good because God declares us by our faith in Jesus Christ.  Therefore, to be good and do good is to simply be what God says we are:  His acceptable children.

Be good.
Do Good.

These are the 2 ways to guarantee God's presence and power in your life.
