THE GOD WHO SEPARATES

God separates.
Jesus divides.
The Spirit polarizes.

When God created the heavens and the earth, He named and distinguished all things and all beings by separating all things and all beings.  Look at these verses from Genesis Chapter 1:
  • God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.
  • And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.”  So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so.
  • And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years,  and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so.
  • God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth,  to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.
The first separation is between Creator and creation, earth and heaven.  This is why we pray, "Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your Name."  His identification and location bear an infinite separation from our who we are and where we are.

God separates.

Jesus divides.  Listen to what Jesus says,

“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn ‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’"   Matthew 10:34-37

Jesus drew an eternal line between Himself and all that exists, making it clear that either you are with Him or against Him, so that you must have no other allegiance except allegiance to Him.

Jesus divides.

The Holy Spirit polarizes.  The word of God shows us how:

"For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want."  Galatians 5:17

You are either following the Spirit or following the flesh as you read.  You cannot follow both at the same place and time because they are moral enemies who will never agree.

God draws lines between Creator and creature, and between creature and creature.
Jesus and the Spirit draw lines between those who follow Them and those who don't.

You must draw a line in your life by accepting the lines in life's sand that God has already drawn.
You must be separate, belonging to God alone, trusting in Jesus alone, and following the Spirit alone.

Accept the God who separates.
Accept Him today.
Accept Him right now.
